This year it feels like we’re getting ready for Christmas earlier than ever. Walmart had Christmas decorations up sometime in late September. What the HECK?!?!
So I’m jumping on the bandwagon and making my New Year’s Resolution right now!
“Simple is better” is my 2019 mantra!
Technology is a Blessing & a Curse
At this risk of sounding like a complainer, life these days gets too complicated. We rush from here to there. We rush through our To Do lists. We rush our kids where they need to be.
We seem to add 4 steps when things can be done in 2. Why do we do this? To feel important? Did someone tell us rushing/multitasking is good along the way?
Email and cell phones are amazing in so many ways, yet they’re just as much of a pain and hindrance to living a “happy” life. When do we disconnect?
I can’t speak for you, but being“overconnected” doesn’t feel like it’s helping me enjoy my life more. It’s just making me busier. I want to feel connected and give people my undivided attention. We all need that.
Goals for 2019
I miss pen and paper. I plan to write more.
I plan to engage more.
I plan to be more present.
I miss driving and looking out the window. Not getting 3 calls while in route. I plan to stop and smell the roses. To Drive safer with less phone time in the car. That helps us all right?
I miss sitting down and getting my work done so I actually accomplish something. Not just spending an hour just checking emails! Email… when did it get so time consuming. I plan to work on meaningful activities.
As I start setting goals and planning for 2019, my main focus will be “it is simple and it flows”.
What’s going to be your commitment for next year?
